LEGAL SINCE 2015

Some corporative descriptions will put you right to sleep — but then there is the improbable story of Distillerie du St. Laurent. Unfortunately we are not able to spill the full bib of our adventure’s real origins, since we insist on keeping a clean criminal record. We will simply say that it all began with some "tests" in a Rimouski basement, where two pigheaded friends disregarded conventions and were inspired by their own terroir to create whimsical and distinctive spirits.

From a ridiculously small distillery was born a seaweed infused gin ridiculously good and unique. Today, in addition to St. Laurent Gin, the distillery produces Whisky using only local grains and Acerum — a brand new breed of distilled maple sap spirits.

We are Proud to be amongst Quebec’s micro-distillation pioneers, Stubborn to produce spirits in a traditional way with our region’s raw resources while remaining Independent facing large corporations that are flooding the shelves with cheap generic products.

WHERE WE

COME FROM

DEFINES WHO

WE ARE – IT’S

ALSO TRUE FOR

OUR SPIRITS.

DistillerieduStLaurent_MIDRES-40.jpg

“The never-ending winters, the northeast wind squalling the saline St. Laurent River air, maple water boiling in the shacks in spring, rocky headlands, the boreal forest, the barley fields, the boats returning to the dock, whiffs of smoked fish... Our spirits are the reflection of our region, its harsh climate and warm traditions – mixed in with a good deal of innovation and eccentricity” — anonymous whisky-drinking poet

THE Stills

BLUEPRINTLYNE.png

Lyne

Redhead Lyne is dedicated to the production of whisky and acerum. Her cone head and chubby base, characteristic of the Scottish whisky stills, refine the congeners that define the signature of our spirits. Its analogue control panel rounds off perfectly its vintage aura. It takes its name from the pipe connecting the still to the condenser; the lyne arm.

• Capacity: 2000L

• All copper

• Steam heated

BLUEPRINTPAPAWONG.png

Papa Wong

Designed to produce our gin, Papa Wong takes over from his little boy, Wong, who retired after having proudly distilled drop by drop more than 100,000 bottles of St. Laurent Gin. The still is topped by a copper sphere holding a unique botanicals infusion basket akin to a deep-sea diver, invented by the Master Distiller himself.

• Capacity: 1000L

• Stainless steel & copper

• Steam heated
